When I saw the Barrel being shamed yesterday I thought of this.
Also this christens my first sketchbook in like years. Been exclusively digital for the past 4 or 5 years.
Better less grainy version coming soon
I’ve received a lot of letters from artists asking to check out their artwork and their blog, and I’ve noticed that a lot of them openly write unhealthy amounts of negative comments about their artwork, it was super depressing, honestly. :(
Confidence plays a very very important role as an artist, it’s what helps us learn and grow without the constant feeling of doubt and jealousy! You are a unique individual who must go down your own unique path, and as scary as it sounds, you can’t rely on others to hold your hand all the way through. You are the only one who can get yourself to where you need to go, and beating up your artwork is not the way! Trust yourself and your abilities to make a change, and you can do anything!!
Love your art, love yourself!
All of this^^^

4chan and tumblr…
…it must be fate.
The only thing I am going to reblog from this tumblr vs 4chan hilarity. Otherwise I am popcorning this whoooole thing.
- smile and clap along
- have a sudden fit of coughing so you can awkwardly hide your face in your hands
- scream “dis my jAM” and jump on the table to break-dance
- sing amazing grace as loud as you possibly can until they stop singing to you
- go up to the closest person singing and hug them until they stop. however long it takes. keep holding them until they feel uncomfortable. bonus points for humming in their ear
- start a mosh pit
Dashcon isn’t a scam. It’s just run by people who have no idea what they’re doing.
This is quite possibly even more dangerous because the money doesn’t get moved to someone’s pocket – where it can be reclaimed – it vanishes. It gets wasted, spent in the wrong place, lost in transit or transaction fees.
Just because some (or maybe even a lot of) the attendees had a good time, doesn’t mean your event wasn’t an unmitigated disaster as a project.
no, they purposefully lied to attendees to get money from them, it’s a scam
Is there hard evidence of that yet? Not saying you’re wrong, but in breaking news, we often speculate with incomplete information.
If there is evidence that they are flat out scamming money to cover themselves then I’ll happily adjust my view to suit…
I have heard of the hotel room name changing, and yea that’s definitely not on… but what I’m saying is that whatever messed up situation it’s deteriorated into, it started out with pure intentions.
